Last week, I walked to Caribou Coffee to enjoy one of their delicious Northern Lite Coolers. (Side note: their coolers are WAY better than the Starbucks Frappie... seriously). On my way out, I noticed there were little messages written on napkins and were hung up.
Enjoy 2 of my favorite pieces of napkin advice...

Fridays at 3pm
Where I work, employees get off at 3:00 pm during the summer. Last Friday, hubster and I went over to Mystic Celt and dined al fresco...and enjoyed a nice, cold, chilly one!
Happy summer!

The 20-Something Dilemma
Prepare for a rant.
I know I am not the only 20-something year old woman who has this problem. I know I have champagne taste and a beer budget. However, where can a young woman shop for clothes that look:
Most of my time is spent at work, which means if I'm buying something, I better be able to make it work as a 'professional look'. I'm done with Old Navy. It's a little too plain jane for me and I'm ready to step up my apparel game.
The problem is, I get sticker shock. I see $50 for a sweater and I freak. Truth is, I know the $50 sweater from The Limited will last much longer than the $15 sweater from Forever 21. I'm 26 years old, it's about time I stop shopping at XXI.
I'm starting to put together a warbrobe 'mood board' for this fall/winter. My mission is to buy pieces that will last and are versatile.
I'm also taking applications for a personal shopper. I'll pay you in baked goodies.

- Chic
- Fabulous

Malibu Rum Cake
Last month, I made my dad a home made cake for father's day. He loves malibu, so I thought it was only appropriate to make an alcoholic cake!
You can find the official recipe here.
I love adding pudding mix to a cake recipe. It makes the cake really moist and delicious! Try it.
* CAKE GLAZING TRICK *
Put a sheet of parchment paper (not wax paper) under your cake, but make sure it's on the serving dish you want to use. Glaze the cake as you wish. Allow the cake to sit for a few minutes. Then, ever so gently, slide the parchment paper away from under the cake. If you need to, use a spoon or finger to hold the cake in place (but near the bottom of the cake). Voila! You have a clean serving dish with a delectable looking cake!

I didn't think 1 1/4 cup of Malibu would be strong enough, but it was. You can definitely taste the rum, but not in an overwhelming way.
